Founded in 2009, WigWagWalk was started because of a simple love for man’s best friend. Justine Blackmon, owner, has had a dog in her household for as long as she can remember. In December of 2004 she adopted an adorable Yorkie which she named Riley. At the time she was living in a small condominium and working 40+ hours a week. Riley hardly had a chance to leave the house and never got enough exercise. It dawned on Justine that she couldn’t be the only person in this situation – so WigWagWalk was born. During the past three years we have had the privilege of visiting dogs from Carrboro to Fuquay-Varina and have taken more than 15,000 WigWagWalks!

Meet the Team
Christine Z. – Lead Walker
Christine is originally from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and has lived in Holly Springs for 11 years. She has had four-legged family members her entire life. Christine has always been a huge animal lover, and enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Bruce and Lexi, who were both adopted from the Wake County SPCA. Christine cannot imagine a life without the love of a dog, and loves spending time with all of her WigWagWalk pups! Christine cares for all of our pups. She helps fill in for Team Members who need the day off as well as some administrative duties. You will probably see some communication come from Christine from time to time!
Dan T.
Dan moved to the Chapel Hill area in 2007 after finishing a Master’s in Anthropology from South Florida. While his degree focused on understanding humans, it turns out he understands dogs pretty well too! Dan has always had a dog or cat in his family (or at least for as long as he can remember), and he hasn’t met a breed he does not get along with yet. It seems Dan just can’t stay away from dogs; outside of WigWagWalk, he also volunteers for Orange County Animal Services. If you live in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area, there’s a good chance Dan was in your neighborhood walking a dog recently! Dan care for our Chapel Hill/Carrboro pack.
Nancy M.
Nancy lives in Cary with her husband, two children, a cat named Sammy, and her playful yorkiepoo named Max. She grew up in Ohio with a family dog, a cockapoo, and two cats. Nancy graduated from The Ohio State University in Landscape Architecture in 1991, but for years she has had the fun job of being a mom. She also enjoys spending time outdoors running, mostly with Max. Even though he is such a small pup, he likes to go for miles! Since her children are now teenagers, Nancy enjoys her days walking with our WigWagWalk pups. She loves learning about each pup’s personality, and what makes them happy! Nancy cares for our Cary/Apex/Morrisville pack.
Justina J.
Justina earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UNC-Greensboro in 2010. After college she moved back to Chapel Hill, her hometown. She fell in love with dogs when she got my first dog from the Orange County Animal Shelter when she was 15 years old. Her name is Pamplemousse. She showed Justina how loving and loyal all dogs are, and from her example she learned to like every dog she met. Recently, she welcomed another dog named Bo to her family. He is an energetic and friendly force of nature! She enjoys taking both dogs to a field near her home and letting them run and sniff around. Justina has wanted to work with animals in some way, and found her opportunity with WigWagWalk. Justina cares for our Chapel Hill/Carrboro pack.
Hannah S.
Hannah was born and raised in Raleigh, NC – one of the few natives you will meet! When she is not out walking her WigWagWalk dogs she loves spending time with her pup Marley, taking him to the dog park and letting him run around in the back yard! He is a rescued Sheltie with one big personality. Hannah loves to meet new doggies and get to know all of the great personalities of the dogs she walks. She sure loves spending her time with the pups! Hannah cares for our North Raleigh pack.
Zoe P.
Zoe is a native New Yorker, who moved to Raleigh 5 years ago with her husband and two children. They are all animal lovers. Zoe has raised two female French Mastiffs and her current dog is a 2 year-old male French Mastiff named Baron, who she rescued at 7 months old. Zoe believes that dogs really are “man’s best friend”–there’s nothing like your dog greeting you at the door when you get home. She enjoys getting to know the dogs on her route and loves being around them every day. She considers the time spent with them very special! Zoe cares for our South Raleigh pack.
Kristin M.
Kristin got her German Shepard mix, Luna, from the SPCA in Michigan before she moved to NC in 2001 after receiving her Bachelor degree in Art. She loves all animals, but definitely has a big soft spot for dogs because they are simply the best! Kristin & Luna live in Boylan Heights and she rides her bike everywhere, making Kristin our Eco-friendly walker! Her artwork can be seen at www.kmatw.com.
